Microsoft Outlook Express is an email manager program that is developed by Microsoft for running on operating systems that were released before Windows Vista. Outlook Express is a cut-down version of the Outlook email manager program from Microsoft. Here we discuss how to fix server issues with the program.

Instructions
  • The first step you need to take is to make sure that you have a working internet connection. This can be done by opening a web browser and then try to navigate to any web page. If you are able to navigate to the page, you have a working internet connection; else, you are not connected to the internet.
  • Use the broadband Assist program for fixing the connection problems with the system. You can get this program from the internet by searching for it. According to Outlook Express help team, you will be able to fix almost all issues with a connection and Outlook using this program.
  • Now making sure the connection is working, check whether the account settings in the Outlook program are accurate or not.
  • If you are using a third party email account and telecom outgoing SMTP servers with the Outlook email manager program, delete all the messages that are in the Outbox folder or if you would like to keep them, move them to the Drafts folder.
  • Close the Outlook Express program by clicking on the small X shaped button found at the top right corner of the application window and then restart the program by double clicking on its icon found in the desktop. You can alternately open the program by clicking on its icon found in the All Programs tab found in the Start menu.
  • Now try to send or receive a message in the program, if you are still not able to get messages, Outlook Express help and support team advises you to make sure that you are not in the Work Offline mode.
  • If you are in the offline mode, you will not be connected to the internet and thus will not be able to send or receive messages. You can turn off this feature by clicking on the Work Offline tab found in the File drop down menu.
If you follow the simple instructions given above, you will be able to fix server connections issues found in the Outlook Express program.
