How To Sign Up For A Windows Live Messenger Account

Communication through emails is slow and you might have to wait for long in order to receive a reply for your email from the recipient. When compared with emails, chat tools are more efficient. With chat tools, the messages are sent and received instantaneously and there is no lag in communication.  There are many chat tools in the market to choose from, and Windows Live Messenger is one of them. This chat tool has been developed by Microsoft and is part of the package Windows Live Essentials.

If you have an account in Windows Live Messenger, you can add contacts to your account and communicate with any person on your contact list without trouble. You can identify whether a person is online or not in the program and this helps to make the communication better. Even if the other person is offline, you can send offline chats, which the other person would receive whenever he/she comes online. Now, if you do not have a Windows Live account, this post would certainly help you. Here, we will take you through the step-by-step procedure to set up a Windows Live account.

Steps Involved

According to Windows Live help center, you can setup a Windows Live account with a few simple steps. The steps involved are:
  • Launch Windows Live Messenger program.
  • You will find the link for Sign up. Select this option.
  • If you already have an email account for Hotmail or Live, type it in the space for email. If you do not have one, create it.
  • Create a password for the newly created account.
  • Enter details like your name, country, ZIP code, birth year, gender, state etc.
  • After entering the details, enter the codes present in the box in the field assigned for it. If you find the code difficult to understand, you may click New. Another option is to choose Audio, which will prompt a code, which you should enter in the field.
  • Choose the option I accept to the license agreement and this takes you to the newly created Windows Live account.
With the above steps, you can create a new Windows Live account and you may use this account to use the Windows Live Messenger program. For additional assistance on this chat tool, you may contact Windows Live help center or our technical support team.
