Uninstalling The IE Developer Toolbar

Internet Explorer is the default web browser in Windows operating systems. It comes as the built-in feature in every Windows operating system. Users are allowed to upgrade to the latest version of IE whenever a compatible IE version is released online.

Developer Toolbar in IE 

Being the default web browser for Windows operating system, IE enjoys a number of features. One of them is the Internet Explorer Developer Toolbar. This toolbar is used to help with the creation, debugging and maintenance of websites. Obviously, this is a great tool for web developers. For others, this tool can be helpful in monitoring or inspecting the inner functioning of a website. The features of IE Developer toolbar varies depending on the IE version you are using. If you are using an older version of IE in your computer, you may not get the latest features of the Developer toolbar.

Uninstalling the Developer toolbar

If you do not need the IE Developer Toolbar, you can easily remove it. The procedure on how to remove toolbars involves uninstalling the toolbar from the Control Panel. But, when it comes to the IE Developer Toolbar, you have to remove it from IE web browser settings. The following instructions will help you with this.

Instructions
  • Launch IE web browser in your computer and navigate to the Tools options, which you would find at the top of the window towards the right end. 
  • Choose Manage Add-ons option from the dropdown menu that appears. 
  • Click on the link that says Enable or Disable Add-ons from the resulting options. IE will display the list of all the installed Add-ons in your PC. You are required to disable two add-ons in order to remove IE Developer toolbar from your web browser. 
  • First, highlight IE Developer Toolbar and press the radio button titled Disable, which you would find at the bottom of the screen. 
  • Similarly, highlight the add-on titled IE Developer Toolbar BHO and Press the Disable radio button to disable it. 
  • The two toolbars that you have disabled now will be moved to the disabled panel which is located at the top of the screen. 
  • Press the OK button to save the changes you have made in the IE settings.
  • Exit IE and restart it.
