About Recalling Sent Messages In Outlook

Outlook would be nothing new to you. In fact, you would be quite familiar with almost all the features available in Outlook. Outlook, one among the most popular office applications launched by Microsoft, can be used for personal as well as for official purposes. You can configure the settings according to your requirements to make it do the desired tasks.

You would be sending a lot of email pertaining to your business and if you make a terrible mistake while drafting the email, then that could affect your career. What would you do in such a situation?  You would definitely wish to recall the email message, which has the potential to affect your career adversely. If you are in such a situation, you can definitely retrieve Outlook email message by making use of the recall facility in Outlook 2013.  This is one of the major advantages missing in many other email clients. If you want to retrieve Outlook email that has not been read by the recipient yet, you need to follow the simple steps given below.

Instructions
  • In Outlook email, you need to open the folder for Sent Messages.
  • This will have the email that you wish to recall. You need to double click on the email message that you want to recall. Now the message will open up on the screen and it will have the red ribbon on top.
  • At the top of the window, you will find the Move section where you need to click Actions.
  • Now select Recall This Message.
  • Choose Delete Unread Copies of This Message. If the recipient has already read the email message, you will receive warning message from Outlook stating that the message is already read by the recipient and you will not be able to get these messages recalled.
  • If you wish to type or add an attachment to the email, you need to choose Delete unread copies and replace with a new message. Now a new email will appear on your screen and it will be ready to be edited.
  • Select OK and Outlook will give you the message that recall is successful.  If you fail to uncheck the box that shows Tell me if recall succeeds or fails for each recipient, you will receive the message regarding the recall status.
If you wish to recall Outlook email, you just have to follow these above-mentioned simple instructions. Problem solved.
