Directions For Removing The Skype Toolbar From Outlook

Most search engines and applications offer toolbars to allow its users access their services instantly. For instance, web browser toolbars such as Google toolbar, Bing toolbar, Yahoo Toolbar and Outlook toolbars like Skype Toolbar.

Microsoft Outlook is a popular email client application that allows users to send and receive emails. Users can setup their preferred email account in Outlook. In addition to its default services such as email, calendar, task manager, Outlook hosts third party toolbars to provide maximum benefits to the users. Skype Toolbar for Outlook, for instance, allows the Outlook users to see their Skype account status on Outlook. The toolbar can be downloaded from the download page of Skype. Users are free to remove the toolbar at any point of time using the appropriate Microsoft Outlook tools. Here are the steps for removing Skype toolbar from Outlook.

Instructions

  • If your Outlook application is currently running, close it.
  • Launch the Run command by navigating to the Start button and then selecting Run from the menu list. An alternative method to display the Run window is pressing the Windows + R key combination on your keyboard.
  • Enter appwiz.cpl in the type field of the Run command window and hit the Enter button. Windows should open Add/Remove Programs screen now.
  • Wait until Add/Remove Programs display the list of all the installed programs and applications in your computer.
  • Once the list is populated, browse through the list until you find the Skype toolbar for Outlook. Once you have found it, highlight it and press the Uninstall/Change button. You will find Uninstall/Change button either on the right end of the blue selection bar or at the upper part of the window.
  • Click Yes when Windows prompts you to confirm your decision to delete the Sky Toolbar for Outlook.
  • You will receive a confirmation message once the toolbar has been successfully uninstalled. Click OK to proceed.
  • Restart your computer and launch Microsoft Outlook.
  • Skype Toolbar would no longer be seen on your Outlook application.
These steps would have helped you get rid of Skype Toolbar from your Outlook application using the Microsoft Outlook tools. You can reinstall the toolbar at any time if you wish so. To reinstall the toolbar, visit Skype.com and search for toolbar for Outlook. The results will display the link to download the toolbar. Once the toolbar is downloaded, simply install it following the on-screen directions.
